Sharp looking SOU #598 sits in an unknown yard. If the date on the front of the photo denotes when the photo was taken, then this loco had only 3 moqe years left before being retired in 1953. History - Alco-Richmond, 1906, Specs - K-403 tubes class Consolidation, 57" drivers, 200 psi, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 199,910 lb and tractive effort of 43,305 lb. The loco was sold for scrap in March of 1952. No location, exact day or photographer was listed for the photo.
